The World’s 1st Highly Irreverent EFT Manual

I have a confession to make.  I have been resisting creating an EFT product even though I get asked for one frequently.   After hearing myself yesterday explain to Till Schilling, the creator of Tappy Bear, why I’m best working with people and need to interact to shine (Resistance.  Blah, blah, blah.), I decided it was time to do some inner work.

There is an old folk saying that “curiousity killed the cat”.  It’s wrong.  Curiousity doesn’t kill cats – it melts resistance. So, I asked myself, “What is up with the fighting?”  I tapped on the feelings.  It turns out that EFT founder Gary Craig was right.  The results I got  made my jaw drop.

irreverance

EFT can be fun!

Turns out, I had a belief system that went like this:  “Products are B-O-R-I-N-G.  I don’t want to be boring.  So I can’t create a product.”

As I released my “I don’t want to be boring” issue, new thoughts started flowing.  EFT is a very funny looking yet very effective thing we use to clear up some of the stickiest issues in our lives.  Lots of material for playing with the paradox there.   What if I wrote an EFT manual that was fun and effective? I instantly noticed one of the best indicators of high vibrational states of being – a smile.

Then a new limiting belief popped up (goodbye smile).  Would anyone actually want to buy my irreverent EFT manual? I’ll spare you the details of the self-worth issues behind that question.  I’ll give you the 140 character, Twitter version.  I tapped some more.  Darn EFT stuff worked again.

I remembered this really cool thing called a blog where I could get feedback from cool people like you.  I am thinking of writing a manual called From Chaotic to Clarity: How to Use EFT and Humor Attraction to Clear Overwhelm.  It would start out something like this:

What you hold in your hands is the world’s first highly irreverent and effective EFT for Overwhelm manual.  And, the truth is, this manual almost never got written.

From there, I would go on to share how I combine EFT and humor to help clients shift from feelings of overwhelm into states of being much clearer and more able to create the lives they want.   I would love to hear your thoughts in the form of a comment below.  Thanks in advance!

I absolutely LOVE the idea, Paul! Bringing laughter into the tapping process always seems to enhance it, so why not do the same for a tapping how-to book? Go for it!!!!

It looks like Paul Zelizer is just waiting for his new book to manifest. He already has the Title and the first line. I bet he even knows what the last line is too. Just has to allow the space in between to be filled. I can’t wait.
I smile and laugh much more now and I can tell you anyone who contributes to more people smiling.. is worth paying attention too!

Paul, the story of how you got to this is inspiring material on its own . . .the idea of reading a book EFT and humor is also inspiring . . . humor tickles us, expands us, reaches us to new heights . . . we need it to survive . . . this books sounds much needed and I know will be very much appreciated. Thank you for this inspiration today!

Paul, rock on with it! Humor and EFT are such a great coupling. Don’t all of us EFT’ers use humor in some way? PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT! It helps us to shift in a softer, easier way.

Your book may be just the permission some individuals need to play.

    Sending you much positive support!

Oh YES, Paul! Go for it! Hehe ;o)
Laughing is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and for others. I just love it!! Haha
It´s wonderful for body, mind and soul. It’s known that it enhances even our immune system!!!
I really believe (and experience)that laughing or smiling along with EFT is very powerful. Like a magic pill with magnificent secondary effects! Lol
I may already “see” the great time you’ll have writing your book, the great joy you’ll be experiencing.
You’ll feel very uplifted and so will those who will read your book and get inspired by it – they will feel the energy of your joy and it will be shine into their lives along with great “AHA” moments as well!
Good to know that you’re about to bring your irreverent laughing and healing heart out to the world in the form of a book!
    Blessings

Brenda: YW. Glad the post is inspiring. One of my intentions is to inspire people about REAL journey of change with EFT. I’m willing to laugh at myself in public once in awhile to help accomplish that.

Barbara: Thanks for your positive support!

Becky: Maybe we’ll have a blueberry pancake breakfast for the release party?

Lee Ann: Thanks for the feedback! Any input on title?

Alexandra: Yes, there is a HUGE stack of research about al the benefits of laughter: immune system, emotional state, internal organ health, brain functioning, etc. Plus it feels good.

    Paul —

Love this idea!! I’ve never been able to read the original manual, for whatever reason. And now that so many years have passed, the time is right for one that is fun to read and easy to understand…

    And… I second Lee Ann’s suggestion for a shorter sub-title.

    How about this:

    From Chaos to Clarity:
    The Highly Irreverent EFT Manual

(I changed Chaotic to Chaos since you probably want a noun to noun comparison, otherwise it would be From Chaotic to Clarified, which is adjective to adjective and sounds like you might be talking about butter…)

    Much love,

    Hey Paul,

I remember talking to you on the phone for the first time, an me with my comedian side, was sharing with you some of the ummm, “images” and “special words” that came to mind while tapping…

You know me, I find humor in ALL this stuff, so you have my vote, and if you need some extra crazy, irreverent input to get you in trouble, give me a shout LOL!

I say go for it, it’s all about transformation AND having fun, at least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

This coming from the “Living In A Human Suit” guy…I think you’re coming with me down the Rabbit Hole, I told you not to swallow the red pill!

Hey Paul, first I must give you thanks for all your insightful emails you’ve sent my way. I didn’t have to meditate on this one, just went with my gut feeling. Laughter is so universal and when you use it to teach it makes the student want to learn even more. I use it all the time to break up the concentration of my dance students. Have a good time with it! whatever that may be.
and may the force be with you…LOL!

I love the idea…it kind of puts life into a bit of perspective. Yes life can be crappy and horrible things can happen to us…but the growth that we are able to have through those things is real and enjoying the process with a lighter and humorous side brings the healing on so much faster.

Yes life is serious and EFT is powerful stuff…but everything is more powerful when put into perspective. Is a trauma event bad enough to create so much residual pain that it renders people nearly impotent in their lives a big deal? Yes of course it is…but when we are able to start laughing and seeing that even the very worst things in life have an energy attached to them that can more easily be released when the energy of joy, humor and laughter are attached to the healing process, then our healing pace quickens and the entire process unfolds in ways that just simply cannot happen outside of the realm of joy and laughter.

    Paul,
I love it! I alway enjoy a good chuckle when we talk … (for only the right reasons!)and laughter is such a great way to shift energy. I’ve been a fan and student of how you use words and organize and present powerful concepts in understandable and elegant, streamlined ways. I remember when I read your money make over book and how much I loved the way you write …… so go for it! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Paul, I am loving your idea. Talk about juicy! Now that you’ve planted the seed in my mind, I believe that a funny and irreverent EFT manual is exactly what the world needs. And you are just the person to create it. Can’t wait! As a client just reminded me yesterday, angels can fly because they take themselves so lightly… :-)

    Paul,

What a great idea! Humor is one of the most effective tools I have found in moving stuck energy. When we can laugh at what we have been victim to or been serious about is freeing.

I think irreverence can catch the eye of a certain population that may be missed w/the regular EFT manual. My Tap n Bitch video has been called irreverent, but it is noticed by people that may have never heard of EFT.

You may want to leave EFT out of the title. Maybe replace it with Tapping or Healing or ______???

    Paul Dear,

This is a VERY good idea. We need it – a lot, and as soon as possible. I hope you’ll get cracking on this right away.

Although – editor/proofreader speaking – I might call it “From Chaos to Clarity:”, or “From Chaotic to Clear:” (grammatical agreement).

I note so many exuberant, enthusiastic responses from your friendly and highly accomplished colleagues. Have you any interest in making this, even in part, a group effort?

At first thought I envision the main body of work as yours, with commentaries added, or maybe a section of comments r.e. humor, Tapping and healing added… just seems as if there is a _lot_ of energy coming from some potentially dynamite contributors. As the adage goes, the more the merrier!

    Cheerio,

    Beth the Barbarian MTT Practitioner

p.s. I continue available in the capacity of editor, proofreader and critic (pretty good at all three – or so they tell me…), as well as being rich in the ridiculous, inadvertent as well as deliberate.

I love the idea! One of the things that can keep us in a lower vibrational frequency is the act of taking ourselves too seriously! When we can laugh and see humor in our so called “problems” we are well on the way to healing.

    Hi, Paul –
Dynamite idea!! Laughter always loosens up a problem so it can release more easily, and just fall away – I very much look forward to seeing and using what you create.
Makes me think of the NLP strategy scrambler, a beautifully playful, effective way to make lasting change…in any modality, allowing ourselves to touch that sense of play shifts everything, even (especially?) in the darkest moments.

Thank you for the great work you do!

    Hi Paul,
just see your site for the first time. I’m a newbee in EFT and also this phenomenon blogging. What I see and feel, is that you’re really good in resourcing. I mean, reading all these responds to your (great) creative eruption. It’ll undoubtedly support you in putting this book in the world – or at least bij someone :-)
I surely going to look closer to the info on your site.
And about smiling and laughter: in Somatic Experiencing (traumahealing Peter Levine) we know about the traumavortex (contraction, hard, dark, overwhelming,…………) and the healing vortex (expression, streaming, moving, ……….. even at times smiling :-) ).
Ofcourse laughter, lightness, it has some like-vibration as gratitude. It opens the heart, physiccaly and spiritually.
